Mekah is a Milwaukee native and fine-folk artist, primarily creating at home using the materials of everyday life. The visual art side of her practice includes collage, assembling altar sculptures, painting, phone photography, jewelry creation, making zines and drawing prints.
Her most recent works are a mixture of physical ephemera, photography, sculpture and digital collage. Her other beloved creative pursuits include guiding talking meditation circles, event curation, culinary arts, herbalism, playing ukulele, writing poetry and offering intuitive oracle readings.
Mekah’s artistic emergence has been a profound exploration of self, motherhood, and indigenous healing practices. Expressed through a diverse range of creative forms, her work resonates with the collective human experience, fosters dialogue and ignites transformation.
